A few of my favourite things...

Diet's not going well so I decided to cheer myself up and list just a few of my favourite things...

obviously I had to start with my beautiful girl Darcy Dolittle
(from here on though they are in no particular order- this is not an exhaustive list)

Wood burning stoves- log fires- home

Cranachan- absolutely the best ever pud- and one of the reasons I will never be slim

Home baked bread- one of the best smells in the world- home baked anything come to think of it...
I just love cooking and food

Marrakech in general (I really need to find a new favourite place in the world) but in particular Les Jardin de la Medina- heaven on earth

Honor Blackman- I wish I had a millionth of her style

By coincidence Honor has ended up next to Sean- they just don't make them like him anymore do they?

The sea shore- who doesn't love the sea shore- the more deserted the better- the ozone, the salt in the air...

I love barn owls- there I have said it - not my favourite bird- he is to come soon- but still beautiful

Allotments make me smile- and so do vegetable gardens

Now this may just be me... but I have a bit of a thing for vintage aprons - frilly ones like these- just so pretty

Again a 50s style thing but this is just gorgeous- one day I will look like this - if I can ever keep to a diet!

Now this little guy is here because he is my favourite colour- pistachio green- well actually pitachios are darker than this so pistachio ice cream green- but now he is here I quite like the car too

My absolute favourite flower is the tiny delicate hardy fuschia above

If pressed I would say pale pink peonies are a close second
and the darker fuschia are pretty gorgeous too- oh okay I just love flowers...

If cranachan is the reason I will never be thin- cookery books are the reason I will never be rich- I have a terrible cookery book habit and have to smuggle them in and hide them.

Is it wrong to love a kindle?

Isn't it breathtaking when early morning mist settles on fields

I love love love Penelope my Streetka

Who doesn't love Paris?

Here he is Mr Robin- my favourite bird

50s style - oh how I wish I could dress up and make up like this...

Woods- love em- any time of year- just gorgeous

Days out - picnics and rounded cars with character

Being a girl - cos if I wasn't I wouldn't be married to my lovely husband xx

Oh and being alive- more faves soon

Diet day one...

My diet day one- I am not going to say how much I weigh (it makes me cry when I type it) but I have two stone and three pounds to lose, to hit my target of the weight I was when we were married. I won't be skinny by any stretch of the imagination but I will be better than I am now and not so addicted to elasticated waists.

I joined an online diet- the one that got me into my wedding dress and I am going to diary here how I do. This is part of my lifelong love hate relationship with food- I love food - it quite obviously hates me because it makes me look like a medium sized whale! I am going to incorporate into the diet some of the wisdom of Harry Eastwood and her Skinny French Kitchen- the woman is a genius! I hope!

Other news this week is these little guys (I mean girls I really hope they are girls) who popped out to join us last week- as yet un-named- they are white minature bearded silkies and will be joining Ruby and Tuesday the buff Pekins in the garden when they are big enough.

I am now off to drink more water than I ever thought possible in my quest for weight loss...
